Preparations are in top gear for a one-day free medical outreach for members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, organized by the Khadijat Toyin Musah (KTM) Foundation.
This is contained in a statement by the KTM Foundation Kwara State Coordinator, Olarewaju Abdulbasit Yahaya and Outreach Coordinator Ibrahim Lateefah in Ilorin.
The statement noted that the medical outreach in collaboration with SWAN is billed to hold on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Taiwo Awoniyi Sports Media Centre, Kwara SWAN Secretariat at George Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin, starting from 9 o'clock in the morning.
According to the statement, the outreach is expected to cover several medical screenings including blood pressure checks, blood sugar level testing, and weight and height measurement.
It explained that the exercise would enable them ascertain the body mass index, vision and hearing screenings, with lifestyle outcomes expected to serve as a guide to lifestyle modification.
The statement pointed out that the Project Director, Bamidele Abdulwarith and Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Yusuf Balkis Omolola are expected to play critical roles during the free medical outreach for SWAN members, while Mrs. Shuaib Khadijat Ohunene would supervise the activities.
The Founder of the Foundation, Professor Khadijat Toyin Musah, is an Ilorin-born distinguished scholar who is also a strong promoter of cycling and former North-Central representative on the Board of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria.
The Foundation expressed readiness to partner Kwara SWAN to offer pro bono medical services and reiterated its resolve to deliver the best medical service during the exercise.
It maintained that Founder Professor Musah is a sports enthusiast who formerly chaired the Women and Grassroots Development Committee of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria.
